We’re hiring
Community Developer/Researcher
ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
The Sackville Commons Co-operative is a member-driven non-profit co-operative serving its members and the greater Tantramar area residents. We serve as an inclusive community hub to offer arts & culture programming, to encourage collaboration, promote sustainability, and support resource sharing. We’re changemakers, so inclusivity is at the heart of all we do. We celebrate differences and value each other for what we each bring. Together, we can grow a new future, so come as you are and let’s get to work.
We are moving toward a community hub model. Through this project, we are examining the experiences of the Memramcook-Tantramar Community Task Force, and identifying community resources and needs, to strengthen and empower community organizations and inform our hub development.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Community Developer/Researcher will work as a part of the Sackville Commons team to research and document the history and work of the Memramcook-Tantramar Community Task Force, which was our community-wide mobilization in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020-2022. This is a hybrid position; you will work from home and out in the community, and will also work with staff and volunteers at the Sackville Commons. You will report to the Administrative Coordinator, who runs the day-to-day operations, and will also meet regularly with an Advisory Group overseeing this project. Our team is small but dedicated, with one staff person and a working Board of Directors. We come from varied backgrounds and work in the community across the arts, business, food security, housing security, and mental health sectors. Each member brings a unique perspective, and you will, too.
